The Veterans of the Korean War Reunion, our Officers and Directors, wish to thank those of you that attended last October.  We are holding another reunion this year.  The dates are October 1, 2 and 3, 2008.

The Social Night will be on Wednesday night, the 1st; the location will be on the 4th floor, Calypso Room (Banquet Room).

All of our events at Surfside will be on the 4th floor, Registration, Social Night, Memorial Service, Guest Speaker Friday afternoon and Dinner Friday Night.  The room will also act as our Hospitality Room and gathering place.

We tried to keep the prices the same as last year, except the trip and Dinner Dance will be $2.00 more this year due to food cost & band increase.  They will be priced on the Registration Form.  The trip must be pre-paid at Mail-in Registration time.  There will only be 55 seats available.  Reason, we must forward to the Navy on Wednesday, the names of those that will be on the trip Thursday.  If you were to register upon arrival on Wednesday we would not have time to forward it to the Navy.  ALL FEES, TRIPS AND MEALS PAID FOR ARE REFUNDABLE IF WE ARE NOTIFIED IN A TIMELY MANNER.

On our Trip to a Naval Base, we have taken into consideration the walking aspect and our age factor.  The trip is being planned with that in mind; we want to accommodate all that wish to go.  There is a meal figured in the price of the trip so there will be no added cost for the food.

This year we may have a small group from the Old Dominion Chapter of the 1st Marine Division Association join us.  Some from "B" Co. that were here last year showed interest in returning again this year.

Sorry for the delay in this mail-out, but trying to get a confirmed commitment with the state of affairs our country is involved today with our Military is hard to do.  I also must take some of the blame due to some health reasons.  Jerry has been very helpful.  The other Directors have been supportive too.  They play as big a part n this reunion as I do.  Without them this would not be possible.

We hope our website is up and will be updated, Debbie has asked me for things and I have been late sending them to her, but I will send them.

Veterans, (your families and friends) who have attended in the past we appreciate your support and hope you will continue to attend.  it is our intent to hold the same quality reunion that has been held in the past.  We will make mistakes and things might not go as planned but with your help and support it will work.  Sorry for the delay in mailing this notice out.

Respectfully,

Floyd D Newkirk, President, 757-340-9801, fnewkirk1@cox.net

Gerald Jerry Brown, Vice President, 757-237-4541, pgkpfn12117@aol.com
